The trip from Johannesburg to Kuala-Lumpur was most pleasant: the seat next to mine was empty and I could stretch out and sleep comfortably all the 10 hours that it took to get to my new destination. But only after attentively listening to the aircraft safety procedures – for the first time in my life I followed the process from A to Z! I cannot even imagine what it did to the men on the plane, because… Try to imagine this:
Elevator music. On all the screens, a slim beautiful Asian flight attendant, curved in all the right places and draped in a flower pattern long silk robe, invites you to join her "into the journey to safety", her sweet voice unmistakably suggesting the necessity of selecting a safety word for this journey. With a sugary smile, the flight attendant walks from one seat to another, showing all the ABC's of the safety procedures, at the same time revealing in her every move new angles to admire the perfect body underneath the long silky dress, suggesting new possibilities for "the journey"…
I looked around. Everybody was mesmerized. Phew, it's not just me. The Malaysia Airlines managed (finally!) to make people pay attention to the safety procedures on the plane by tapping into our collective Freudian unconscious. Bravo!
